Sheel is a Principal & Co-Head of the Seed Practice at NEA, the world’s largest venture capital firm with portfolio companies including Uber, Buzzfeed, Clovis Oncology, and Bridge International Academies.  He focuses on consumer technology & emerging markets.  As an angel investor, Sheel has personally invested in the seed and/or Series A of Andela, Casper, Fiscalnote, HelloGiggles (acquired by Time), Mark43, and Robinhood.  

Sheel is on the Board of Directors of the nonprofits Business Center for New Americans and the We Are Family Foundation. He is also on the Board of Directors for Andela, a company transforming education in Africa.  He was previously on the business development team of Skybox Imaging, which was acquired by Google in 2014 for $500 million.  

Sheel graduated from Stanford University in three years, at the age of 19.  He is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, and was the youngest on the Forbes 30 under 30 list for finance in 2013.  He was a delegation member of the “Road to GES” American Innovation Roadshow to Southeast Asia, and also traveled to Cuba as part of President Obama’s historic visit.
