Komal Mohindra is a Senior Private Sector Development Specialist with the World Bank Group's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit of the Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice, based in Washington DC. During her seven years in the WBG, she has been advising client governments and operational teams on business environment reforms, working across all regions. She has recently taken leadership of the womenX program that is working to build entrepreneurial ecosystems and improve business outcomes for high-growth potential female entrepreneurs in Nigeria and Pakistan. She is also supporting colleagues working on programs focusing on women's entrepreneurship in the Caribbean, and programs delivering acceleration programs in the agribusiness and digital sectors. Prior to joining the Bank, Komal worked for eight years with a global professional services firm in London, UK and in Toronto, Canada where she was advisor to business clients across all regions, from small owner-managed companies, to global multinational enterprises on the Fortune 500. Prior to that, Komal worked for a sub-national Attorney General's office in Canada. Komal is a licensed Barrister and Solicitor in Canada. Komal enjoys travelling with her two daughters and seeing the world through their eyes, hosting wine tasting sessions, trying to understand the US electorate and the election process, experimental fusion cooking, and learning how to restore antique wood furniture.
