In collaboration with the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), more than 30 partners will host events in and around the San Francisco Bay Area to expose participating global entrepreneurs and investors to the full breadth of Silicon Valley's innovation ecosystem. Held on the margins of the Summit, June 21 to 25, GES Partner Events include workshops, panel discussions, field trips, film screenings, intimate dinners, and networking receptions. Events are hosted by GES sponsors, partners and affiliated organizations, such as Skoll Foundation, Silicon Valley Bank, Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, and Deloitte, in addition to a wide spectrum of tech industry leaders across sectors.
Holding GES in Silicon Valley highlights America’s entrepreneurial spirit and allows American investors and entrepreneurs to see the talent, solutions, and possibility that exists around the world. GES attendees participating in partner events will visit the campuses of companies such as Facebook, Benetech, and RocketSpace. GES entrepreneurs will network and engage with local innovators through events like a two day hackathon to develop technical tools for women’s empowerment. Bringing the world to Silicon Valley advances jobs, skills, and wealth creation across the United States by connecting investors and entrepreneurs with good ideas that have the potential to scale and deliver innovative products and services.
Side events will feature leading industry experts and aim to help entrepreneurs hack their creative culture, raise capital, scale ventures, and navigate public policy. Special events will highlight innovation in Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East, as well as cover wide-ranging topics, from women in technology and increasing access to renewable energy, to next-generation technology in space exploration, artificial intelligence, and healthcare with social entrepreneurship and leveraging technology to tackle global challenges themes of particular focus.
