Emmett T. Vaughn is Director of the Office of Diverse Business Empowerment. He provides strategic direction and oversight for over $1.4 Billion of contracts done with diversity certified businesses annually. Additionally he serves as an advisor on $1.9 billion in monies currently managed by minority investment banks and fund managers.  Exelon has experienced significant growth over the past 10 years in national diversity focused economic development initiatives under his leadership. Over $4.5 Billion dollars in “new business” with diversity certified suppliers has occurred under his direction, all while contributing to corporate cost saving goals. Exelon Corporation is the nation’s largest electric and gas utility company, headquartered in Chicago and parent company to 6 major utilities in the Mid-Atlantic region of the US. In 2000 he served as “loaned executive advisor” to Reverend Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow PUSH coalition on national minority business projects. His professional expertise was developed as a senior consultant for RGMA Consulting, a Chicago based management consulting firm. Additional Fortune 500 experience includes supplier diversity strategy for Albertsons Inc. and RR Donnelley & Sons Company.

 Emmett earned his MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.  Additionally he is a professor of business and entrepreneurship at Chicago State University.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, the National Utilities Diversity Council and the American Cancer Society.
